Text Capture X Overview

Text Capture X is a screen scrapper COM library that enables screen text capture from Windows applications.

How does it work?

Screen scrape any area of the screen and feed your application with the clear screen text.
Text Capture X is able to extract text from a window region or the whole screen text from scrolling windows.

Text Capture X does not use font based screen OCR so it's incredible reliable, fast and 100% accurate.

Compatibility

It is compatible with most applications in Windows. Just to name a few, the screen scraper is compatible with entire Microsoft Office suite, legacy and mainframe applications, all browsers (Internet Explorer, FireFox, Opera), Adobe Reader and Professional, email clients, instant messengers.

It can be used to capture screen text from Windows controls that does not support copy/paste operations like lists, trees, status bars, file folders, grids, combo boxes and custom controls.

Text Capture X has been deployed since 2004 by more than 2000 customers worldwide. It is used for system integration, document management, hospital information systems, regression testing and even for screen scraping poker applications. Samples included

We provide C++, VB, C# and Delphi samples into the trial version in order to demonstrate the text capture library features.

Limitations

TextCaptureX cannot capture text from scanned documents, faxes. Also it doesn't work in Windows 95, 98, ME, Linux or Mac operating systems.
